Step 1: Employer Accreditation & Renewals
Before hiring migrant workers, your company must be accredited by Immigration New Zealand. We guide you through the accreditation process, ensuring you meet all criteria to become an accredited employer. Our support includes preparing your application, advising on the necessary documentation, and ensuring you comply with employment standards. We also assist employers in renewing accreditation, helping you maintain your status as an accredited employer to retain overseas talent.
Accreditation types:
You can apply for 1 of 3 different levels of accreditation depending on your business and how many migrants you want to hire. The types are standard, high-volume, or controlling third party.
Accreditation duration:
Your initial accreditation lasts for 12 months before you need to renew it.
Once you renew it will last for:

24 months for standard businesses, as long as it has not lapsed for 12 or more months

12 months for franchisees and employers placing migrants with controlling third parties.

Step 2: Job Checks
Once accredited, you need to complete a job check to prove that no suitable New Zealanders are available to fill the position. We assist in preparing and submitting job check applications, ensuring all job descriptions, employment terms, and advertising meet employment law and Immigration New Zealand’s requirements.
